About our Club

The Club facilities currently consist of 5 flood-lit synthetic grass tennis courts and we have just completed the building of a new 2-story clubhouse.  It consists of a ladies and gentlemens shower room, a kitchen, viewing area and social room.  Navan Tennis Club is affiliated to: Tennis Ireland, Dublin Lawn Tennis Council, Leinster Provincial Town’s Tennis Council and Meath Sports Partnership (a Meath County Council initiative).  Navan Tennis Club is the only club in Navan providing recognised tennis facilities.  There are no County Council or Local Authority tennis courts in the area and there are no ‘Local Parks’ tennis initiatives either.

A key strategy in encouraging new members to join is the weekly tournament held every Thursday night at 7.30pm and is open to members and non-members.  It is part of the community involvement philosophy of the Club.  It is a doubles competition where you are paired with a different partner in each game.  This has enabled new players to integrate quickly into the social fabric of the Club and generates a huge welcome for players considering membership.

Tennis is a sport for life that can be played by people of all ages, standards, and fitness levels at both competitive, recreational and social levels.  The Club provides tennis amenities to enable tennis be played all year round, night or day, in all weather conditions. It caters for adults and children of all ages, standards, and fitness levels at both competitive, recreational and social levels.  A mix of veterans (Over  45), seniors (Over 35), adults, students and schoolchildren participate in tennis initiatives on a daily basis at the club. There is a similar ratio of females/males who participate in the sport at a competitive, recreational and social levels.  100% of the Club Membership play the sport – in the sport of tennis you rarely have any dormant members!!!
